Originally from Wyoming, I started coaching the Jackson Hole StingRays right after I finished my senior year of high school swimming. I went on to Mesa State college where I swam distance events and butterfly for four years. Shortly after I retired I started coaching for the Grand Junction Dolphins. I am currently a student at CMU studying Elementary education and the art of ski bumming.

I have been swimming competitively for over 14 years. I am originally from Pueblo, Colorado where I swam on Pueblo Swim Club. When I was a freshman in high school, I began teaching lessons and helping coach for my club team. When I graduated from high school, I came to Mesa State College to go to school and swim.  As of May 12, 2012, I graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in Elementary Education. I love swimming, and I love kids, so I am excited to have this opportunity where I get the best of both worlds.

Coach Katie coaches the Gold, Cardinal and White groups.
