Hi everyone,
I hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend. Here are a few things to think about for the upcoming week:
-Summer schedule starts this Friday, June 1st. If you are still unsure of the new schedule, make sure to check the practice times for your swimmer's group on the website.
-Cortez entries are due by Wednesday. Entries for our Invite are also due soon, and the Aspen meet is up and ready for events to be picked, as well.
-The CMU swim camp still has openings available, and I encourage anyone who hasn't signed up to look at it. Brian Pearson, Ed Stehlin and I will all be coaching at the camp. For those swimmers not signed up, there will be normal practice times as of right now. If that changes, I will let you know ASAP.
-Please make sure to check / read your emails from Cami, Lee, and Sean. They send out a lot of very important info from their end, such as apparel orders, volunteer sign-ups, and meet reminders, and just because the emails aren't coming from me, they do need to be read. For example, our Invite is just around the corner, and I know emails have been sent out regarding job sign-ups for volunteers. This is very important, and will determine how smoothly our meet is run.
-Finally, we have been getting a lot of new swimmers coming to try out for the team now that school is out, and I anticipate even more in the upcoming weeks. This is fantastic for the team, but it also means that the White/Cardinal groups will have more swimmers in them. A lot of parents complained that we were too crowded at the beginning of the short course season last year, as we grew, so I do ask that you be patient and also thankful that our biggest problem is we have TOO MANY swimmers. Most teams would love to have that problem. I trust my coaching staff to handle it with no problems, and if we end up needing more coaches then we will find more coaches. As always, don't hesitate to contact me with any concerns or questions.
See you at the pool,
Jacob
